CISCO expands to Israel

CISCO CEO John Chambers
One of the industry's technology leaders, Cisco will be creating a new research and development center in Israel. This was announced by CEO John Chambers during his talks with Minister of Finance Yair Lapid.

This latest center will provide an additional 100 jobs aside from the existing 2000 workers already employed at Cisco center in Israel. Chambers added that this center will be specializing in security, based on information accumulated by NDS.  NDS is a TV software developer bought by Cisco last March 2012   for $5 billion.

It’s also Cisco’s plan to further strengthen partnership with Israel. Israeli President Shimon Peres made Chambers’ three day trip possible by extending an invitation for Chambers to witness the 5th Israeli Presidential Conference.

He is also scheduled to meet with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Economy Naftali Bennett, Minister of Communication Gilad Erdan and Minister of Education Shai Piron.
